Strawberry Cupcakes With Buttercream On Top

That schoolyard chant is what I hum to myself whenever I eat strawberry shortcake. Of all the kinds of berries, strawberry is the most popular, and strawberry shortcake is a favorite dessert in summer --

Ingredients

• Vanilla Cupcakes
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3 eggs
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup canola oil
• 2 tsp pure (not imitation) vanilla extract
• 3/4 cup of sour cream
• Strawberry Sauce
• 1 pint of fresh strawberries
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1/4 tsp of pure vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
• Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
• 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 3 cups of confectioner's sugar
• 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
